YOUR ELEVATION Today Devotional – TAKE IT Slow By Godman Akinlabi
If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of dairy food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?” – James 215-16 (1,110V)
One of the things many non-believers have against Christians is the perception that Christians are always praying but never taking any action. Some-one once said, “They wish always, without doing.
They have put a wishbone where their backbone should be.” You may have even encountered people like this, constantly in church and prayer meetings but never having time or money to spare for people in need.
Religiosity does not guarantee compassion. You can be religious and yet selfish or uncaring.
As a believing business owner, how do you treat your employees? Do you have honor, regard, and respect for them? Are you kind and serving to your spouse and children?
It is all well to say you will pray for someone, but are you also able to support them fi-nancially? You must actively combat the tendency for your heart to harden.
Your heart must remain tender. Put your love into action and “make things well” for someone instead of just wishing them so.
Confession: I am compassionate with more than just my words. l am able to serve people with my actions.
