COHEN BRAMALL revealed he never once had a conversation with Arsenal manager Unai Emery before he was “binned off” by the club.

Arsenal signed the defender from non-league side Hednesford Town in January 2017 before being sent out on loan to Birmingham in August.

The 23-year-old told Goal: “When Arsene left it changed the whole thing for me, I’m gutted that he left.

“When Unai came in I was hoping to train across with the first-team but I didn’t really get that opportunity.

“I didn’t have a conversation with Unai at all. That’s the thing. I didn’t have a conversation with him once.

“It was probably difficult for him because I’m guessing he was told I didn’t have the best of loans at Birmingham, so he just binned me off.

“And when I did get told to go over there and train, it was at the last minute. That’s the thing that upset me a bit because I didn’t get the chance to show Unai what I could do, like I did with Arsene.

“The last three months I worked really hard to see if anything would change, but nothing did. So I knew it was coming. I already accepted it when Arsene went.”

ARSENAL are on the brink of announcing their first signing of the summer in talented keeper Markus Schubert, according to reports.

Boss Unai Emery has been in the market for a new stopper following Petr Cech’s retirement at the end of last season.

Schubert, 21, has come through the youth team at Bundesliga 2 side Dynamo Dresden and is currently a Germany Under-21 international.

He had scouts watching him across Europe having been regarded as one of the best young keepers in Germany.

Arsenal will be delighted that they have managed to keep the deal under wraps although no official announcement has been made yet.

According to the Independent, Schubert will arrive as an understudy to current No1 Bernd Leno with the view of becoming first choice in the near future.

DUTCH football expert Marcel van der Kraan has revealed Arsenal target Hakin Ziyech is keen on a move to the Emirates.

The Ajax midfielder is available for just £25million this summer and will be allowed to leave the Eredivisie giants.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Window Podcast, Van der Kraan said: ” I know that the player is keen on a club like Arsenal, who have always played good football.

“Manchester City also under Pep Guardiola play a kind of Johan Cruyff-Ajax style of football, as do Barcelona. But not all of these clubs will line up for him.

“I think that if Arsenal did not have Mesut Ozil, they would have been the perfect club for him. But now, he has to choose between clubs in the Bundesliga, two or three clubs.”

Ziyech chipped in with 21 goals and 24 assists in 49 games last season.
