FRESH FIRE AND HOW TO SUSTAIN IT – Femi Faronbi – Isaiah. 40:29-31
It takes daily waiting upon the Lord to sustain the freshness of God’s fire in our lives.
God’s servant Dr Benny Hinn said, “From experience, it takes about 2hours or more to charge your phone but it will take 2 weeks to fully charge your spirit man- which is the battery of your life. That means, 2 weeks of daily waiting upon the Lord in prayers including worship, praise, thanksgiving and the study of the Word and anointed materials as the case may be.
Leviticus 6:12 says, “And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: the priest shall burn wood on it every morning….”.
Verse 13 says,“The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
And the Book of Rev.1:5 says you are a priest unto God. That means as a New Testament Priest your assignment is to keep the fire ever burning upon the altar- the altar of your life.
WHAT IS AN ALTAR?
An altar is a place of sacrifice and encounters. Remember when Noah and Solomon just to mention a few reared an altar of sacrifice unto the Lord, they encountered God. 2 Chronicles 1:5-12.
Therefore, as New Testament priest, you have a 3-fold assignment or ministry
3-FOLD ASSIGNMENT OR MINISTRY OF A PRIEST
1. Ministering unto the Lord: Acts 13:2. You must on a daily basis be ministering unto the Lord in worship, praise and thanksgiving for God inhabits the praise of His people. Psalms 22:3
Praise is what God cannot do for Himself and that is why He created you and I to worship, praise and give glory to His Name. Isaiah 43:7
2. Ministering unto yourself : You are to be ministering daily unto yourself as you wait upon the Lord in prayer, the study of the Word and the likes. Isaiah 40:3, 1 Timothy 4:14-16. Remember as a priest, you cannot give what you don’t have.
3. Ministering unto the saints : You are to be ministering to the Saints in intercessions and the teaching of the Word. 1 Samuel 12:23 made us to understand that it is a sin for you as God’s priest not to be praying for God’s people.
Jesus also commanded Peter to feed His lamb and sheep. John 21:15-17
On a final note,
I will like to say that for you and I to function at our best as God’s priests in this end time, we must STAY CONNECTED to God our Only Source of power on a daily basis. A priest that has no FUNCTIONAL ALTAR will end a prey in the hand of the enemy but God forbid.
Daily waiting upon the Lord coupled with regular fasting schedule is key to keeping the FIRE OF GOD FRESH IN OUR LIVES. FRESH FIRE LORD!
